Adding Labels to CRM 2011 Forms

When customising a form in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011, often you want to enter a text or label onto the form.

Here is an example:

Unfortunately, there is no straight-forward way to do this. I have seen a trick of adding dummy text fields to the entity, adding the fields to the form and use JavaScript to hide the fields so you are only left with the labels. However, I don’t think such method is a good idea simply because of the dummy fields and that the user may mistakenly run searches on these fields.

Here is my approach:

  1. Create a new blank HTML resource

  2. Insert as many as required in the places where you want the labels to appear

  3. Change the properties of these HTML resources and enter the label texts
